“One of the most fearless and adventurous cultural initiatives of the past decade.”

MASS MoCA, the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, is the largest center for contemporary visual and performing arts in the United States and is dedicated to the creation and presentation of provocative visual and performing arts pieces.
MASS MoCA recycled a massive former industrial site into a cutting edge cultural center -- its 13-acre factory campus is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The renovated 19th-century factory buildings include more than 125,000 square feet of exhibition space. MASS MoCA turns nature literally on its head, greeting you with six maple trees suspended upside down in the entry courtyard -- a long-term installation titled Tree Logic by Natalie Jeremijenko.
MASS MoCA’s vast galleries and expert fabrication staff give visual artists the tools and time to create works of scale and duration impossible to realize elsewhere. MASS MoCA mounts several challenging exhibitions a year and presents over 70 major performing arts events. Artists who have exhibited at MASS MoCA include Ann Hamilton, Matthew Ritchie, and Gregory Crewdson.
